Elections to 12 Rajya Sabha seats across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal will be held on October 16.
The announcement comes after discussions within the ruling alliance
Polling will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on October 16, followed by the counting of votes on the same day.
The final electoral roll comprises 3,737,701 male voters, 3,421,036 female voters, and 212 third-gender voters. It includes 72,656 voters in the 18-19 age group and 1,22,892 voters aged over 80.
The final list added 129,872 names and removed 104,708 after the claims and objections period, resulting in 25,164 more electors than the draft roll.
The final roll is 8.01 lakh voters lower than the electoral roll at the start of the SIR.
The State will now begin a special drive to enrol missing and eligible voters, following the nearly 10% decline in the electoral roll, with a large number of voters placed in the ‘uncollectable (ASDD)’ category
