COLORADO: Tropical Storm Isaias formed in the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday and is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane before slamming into the southern US coast early on Saturday, bringing heavy rain, storm surges and possible tornadoes across several states, the National Hurricane Centre said.
Warnings of a hurricane threat are posted from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle. Although the system is a tropical storm, it's expected to strengthen into a Category 2 hurricane by Friday. It would be the first hurricane of the year. Rob Marciano reports from Florida.
