A University of Arkansas professor fired for antisemitic social media posts filed a lawsuit asking a judge to strike down the state's campus antisemitism law.
“I think that the establishment of the advisory council is a very useful instrument if it produces what it must produce,” Deborah Lyons told JNS.
“In many of the countries that have Holocaust envoys or antisemitism envoys, you have to empower them to be able to do something to be effective,” the U.S. special envoy on Jew-hatred told reporters. “You can’t neuter them.”
The board’s vice president denies calling a Jewish board member a “Zionist b****.”
The revised guide remains focused on far-right groups and states that Republicans use antisemitism as an excuse to silence anti-Israel voices.
The plaintiffs filed the amended complaint after a federal judge dismissed their original filing in July for failing to meet federal pleading requirements.
