TORONTO - Former federal Conservative minister Chris Alexander says he is quitting the race to become the next mayor of Toronto as advance voting begins in the city's municipal election.
The move leaves incumbent Olivia Chow and two-term city councillor Brad Bradford as the only candidates with any significant presence in the polls.
The former immigration minister made the announcement Tuesday morning.
The former federal immigration minister previously said he decided to run because he thought Olivia Chow would trounce the other people opposing her.
